Our company group has integrated the goal of carbon neutrality into the long-term green strategy of our hotels!

As the first step in our long-term green strategy, we aim to reduce the carbon emissions generated by our operations by supporting domestic forestation efforts. Studies show that the average Hungarian's carbon footprint is approximately 6-7 tons of CO2 annually, which can be offset by around 2,000 healthy, native trees that are over 50 years old each year.

Currently, only 25% of Hungary's land is covered by forests, which is why we consider it our important mission to contribute to improving the natural state of domestic forests and ecosystems. To support this noble cause, we have joined the Climate Action initiative, which focuses on restructuring Hungary's forests with native tree species. This will make the forests more resilient to the effects of climate change, and as a result, increase the size, biodiversity, and quantity of native species within Hungary's forested areas.

We also want to raise our guests' awareness of the importance of reducing their carbon footprint. In addition to the company's own support for domestic forestation, we are offering our guests the opportunity to offset the carbon footprint generated during their hotel stay.

Initially, at eight Hotel & More properties (Residence Balaton****superior Conference & Wellness Hotel Siófok, Akadémia Hotel Balatonfüred, Aura Hotel**** Balatonfüred, Hotel Budapest***, Duna Relax Hotel**** Ráckeve, Oxigén Family Hotel**** Noszvaj, Hotel Fit Hévíz, Hotel Nostra Siófok), guests will have the opportunity to purchase saplings (Hungarian pedunculate oak, Hungarian sessile oak, linden, maple, serviceberry) at a discounted rate. These saplings will be used to replace the poor-quality trees in the deteriorating pine and acacia forests in Pusztavám. The mixed-species forest created through this initiative can be sustained for 90-110 years.
Hotel & More plans to expand this key project to include all other hotels in the group.

We hope that through our initiative, we can raise awareness among as many of our guests as possible about the importance of tree planting, helping to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.
